Through her eyes...

It is so much fun experiencing Christmas with a 2 1/2 year old this year! I've always heard that there is nothing like seeing Christmas "through the eyes of a child", and now I know what that means.

Campbell LOVES the lights, the traditions, the goodies, the songs, the Christmas movies, the smell of the tree in the morning, the ornaments' stories/backgrounds, the decorating, etc., etc. The most special thing of all has been sharing with her the REAL reason for Christmas-- the birth of Jesus Christ. Every nativity scene we see, we hear an enthusiastic, "Mama, look. It's baby Jesus. He looks like Cooper!"

We are so excited to add to our family in just 2 months! I now know how special passing down traditions are and remember how much fun Christmas was as a child.

Some special phrases we've been hearing daily--

(EVERY morning...) "Mama, I want to watch Santa Mickey, please". Praise the Lord for Mickey Mouses' Christmas Carol, Rudolph, Caillou Christmas, Frosty, etc., etc...

"Santa Claus is going to come to my house. I want him to come to my big girl room"

"Is Santa Claus coming TODAY?"

(As we have a fire in the fireplace...) "Mama, Santa will be HOT!"

Here are a few pics from the Season so far--

Wishing you and yours a blessed Christmas season! Love to you all.

Halloween

Funny how Halloween is exciting for both kids AND adults. For one day each year, it's normal to see the person driving beside you in a Strawberry Shortcake outfit, or for me to drop off my child at preschool dressed like a lion and it be... normal, no questions asked;)

This year, our therapy department at work was the cast of Wizard of Oz. Being all big and pregnant, I was given the title of Cowardly Lion. So thankful for my sweet friend, Lindsey, whose hubby had a costume for me to borrow! I was warm and "roomy" all day:)

Campbell was a generic Princess, though, if you asked her if she was Cinderella, Belle or just a princess, all those titles would get an enthusiastic head nod "YES"! I got a little nervous when she woke up, saw Mommy dressed as a lion and all of a sudden wanted to be Simba! Whew. Had to really talk up the whole Princess excitement at that point. We had a great time trick-or-treating out in the neighborhood, seeing neighborhood friends, then back to the house to check out the loot with Daddy (who snuck a few pieces for himself, I think). *Disclaimer: I cannot let him take full responsibility for raiding the candy...as did this sweets-lovin' Mama*

I hope all of your Halloweens' were happy! Enjoy your week!

3 1/2 month picture recap...

Here we go... deep breath and ...

JULY

we went to the mountain house with my family for the 4th... my sister and her fam come to visit Daphne!

AUGUST

Campbell is dedicated at our sweet church (better late than never, right?:))...one Sunday evening, Campbell gets down from our bed and breaks her elbow. Surgery to place 2 pins, and half cast for 6 weeks.

SEPTEMBER

cast comes off... we can swim a few last times for the season. We go to South FLA to visit Ryans' sister. (Waiting on Nicole-- hint, hint, for cute pics from this vacay!)

OCTOBER

so far, not much going on around here. Campbell just had her 2nd set of tubes placed and an adenoidectomy, and she is officially in her "big girl room" so we can make the nursery BLUE!

We are looking forward to the upcoming months ahead! Due to our very recent obsession with Disney princesses, Campbell will be Belle for Halloween. Trips to ATL coming up for our birthdays and later the UGA/AU game. Seaside for Thanksgiving and all the Christmas fun!

Happy weekend!

We've been MIA...

Hello all! (Is there anyone out there that still checks this blog?)

This is a quick, photo-free, update to let y'all know we are alive and well. We just came out of (Lord Willing) the craziest summer we've had to date. House fires (my parents' mountain home, not ours), broken elbows and surgeries for pins (Campbell), car trouble (both of our cars within 24 hours of each other), computer crash (hence the no pics b/c I'm on hubbies' laptop), and last but not least... some GREAT news...

WE ARE EXPECTING BABY BOY GREEN on FEB 25th!!

So... please excuse our MIA status as of late.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Hoping to download some pictures soon to recap the "fun" of a 2 year old in a full arm cast-type contraption, with a morning-sick Mommy who had to clean around the protruding elbow pins! Yikes. Glad that is behind us.

Love to all!!

Mama's Turn...

Hello and happy HOT summer! Today was a heat advisory down here. I'm a little afraid of what August will be. But, I digress...

This post is about "fashion"... and pictures...

Normally, on any given afternoon, my child will sneak away to her room and this is what she, more often than not, will look like--

(yes, that is ONE rain boot and a training diaper)

However... this past weekend, Mommy was in charge! We met a dear and precious friend I met at work (http://slow-down-and-live.blogspot.com/), whom Campbell lovingly calls "Gita", at the Fairhope pier and Old Town Daphne park and this is the magic that came about...

Thank you, Amanda, for your awesome talent and for capturing Campbell in such a beautiful way that we will always have to remember. The Lord has gifted you in amazing ways!

We love you, Gita!;)

Monday pick-me-up

I love this pretty little thing! I love her curls, and I love that I think that I know how to cut them. I've started cutting Ryan's hair lately and now I can't stop! Never done curls though. Pretty good for a first-timer, I think?! I only cut about an inch off the length and sideburns. (Think Ryan will notice?! Kinda nervous about that. Shhh!)

Happy Monday!

"Hoppy" Easter! (season- recap)

Like it? "Hoppy" Easter?! Shout out to my sister-in-law, Nicole, for that cheesy one;)

Before I launch into the photo recap of our Easter season, I have to plug in this pic of Little Lady enjoying some post-birthday time with my parents. I love it. (we missed you over the holiday)...

Ok.. deep breath, and try my best to be brief...

We have hunted a little at our church "Eggstravaganza"...

We took a little break to have a massive ear infection (despite this little darlins' disposition)...

Hunted a little more at a big 'ol Green family reunion...

And, hunted a little more at Easter lunch with the in-laws...

We gotten to hang out with cousins, and beautiful aunts and uncles from out of town...

And now, we have crashed...

Praying your family all had a wonderfully, Happy Easter! He HAS Risen!
